Basic Stand

OBJECTIVE: Create 1/2 square foot of more counter space for my cramped bathroom

First thing i did was level the board with a hand plane, then I drew an outline of each pine post and cut out each corner with a jig saw. Later I applied glue to each pine post and clamped them to the corners as shown

Due to the length of these pine posts they immediately started to drift away from each other. I was doing a quick and dirty overnight build, so I decided to just take a few piece of pine, and attach some sort of bracing near the bottom.

The bracing was absolutely necessary to the structural integrity. I applied some stain after sanding some and called it finished. I will eventually add some polyurethane.
